Greer, SC — Skip Davenport will present the keys to a refurbished car to local, Carlos Cabrera on Friday, April 27 at 10am. This presentation is a part of D&D Ford’s partnership with Recycled Rides and Greer Relief and Resources Agency. Recycled Rides is a “nationwide community service project whereby members of the National Auto Body Council repair and donate recycled vehicles to families and service organizations in need, in their communities.”
D&D Ford has served the Upstate for over 80 years and community involvement is a pillar of the organization. Owner Skip Davenport said, “In suburban areas, having a car is an essential part of your daily life. The need is even more present when you depend on your car to get you to medical appointments on a regular basis. At D&D Ford, we really try to positively impact members of our community, so we couldn’t be more excited for Carlos.”
Carlos Cabrera is a member of the community who has struggled with a chronic medical condition that resulted in him being on Social Security Disability for 10 years. His current automobile is 20 years old and highly undependable. With his new car, Carlos will be able to attend his frequent medical appointments as well as pick up his children from school. D&D Ford partnered with Greer Relief in identifying Carlos as the recipient of this car. Greer Relief executed the application process and chose Carlos as the recipient based on the Recycle Rides criteria and the applicant’s need. We invite you to join us at the D&D Ford Dealership Friday, April 27th at 10 a.m. The dealership is located at 13655 E Wade Hampton Blvd in Greer.
