Based on a curriculum created by the Department of Labor, “Skills to Pay the Bills: Mastering Soft Skills for Workplace Success” is a study series that helps students learn the soft skills needed for achieving the most in the workplace. There are six parts to this study plus the introduction:
This training will help you develop and hone necessary skills for workplace interaction and etiquette. Soft skills are probably the most important skills, because they are always required, no matter what job you get! Soft skills are the interpersonal interactions we have with coworkers, clients/customers, and management. How good a person is at turning those interactions in a positive way, the better a person’s soft skills and the better they will thrive in any work environment!
This week’s lesson is on Teamwork!
It is being taught by our community volunteer, Karen Hall. Karen received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina. She also holds two associate’s degrees from Greenville Technical College, and she’s pursuing her master’s degree in Public Administration focusing on Public Policy from the University of Missouri. She works as a Stakeholder Engagement Director for Duke Energy, and she lives with her husband and seven children in the City of Greer. She is an advocate for the rights of children in foster care and, in her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her family and kayaking.
