What is Zymurgy?
From Wikipedia: Zymology, also known as zymurgy (from the Greek: ζύμωσις+ἔργον, “the workings of fermentation”) is an applied science which studies the biochemical process of fermentation and its practical uses.
Who can come to Zymurgy?
Anyone. The Tasting Market is free and open to the public. You must purchase a ticket for the Tasting Garden and since it’s serving only alcohol, guests must be 21 or older. There will also be food trucks/carts available for a late lunch or early dinner.
How do I register?
You can register online by clicking this link, or by contacting Evan at (864) 334-3492 and mailing a check to Greer Relief at PO Box 1303, Greer SC 29650. Remember tickets are for the Tasting Garden and guests must be 21 or older. You will receive an online registration notification and we will check you in at the entrance, be sure to bring your photo ID.
Can I register at the event?
Yes, but the price goes up to $40 after April 21st.
Where is the Green at Century 3?
Century 3, our location sponsor, is located at 112 S. Main St, Greer. The Green at Century 3 is the beautiful grassy lawn to the left of the building. The event will be staged under the trees on the lawn with a beautiful view of Main Street.
Where is parking?
Parking is available in the private lot at Century 3, located on Miller Street, if that lot is full the City Municipal parking lot on the corner of Miller & Poinsett is also available.
Is there music?
Yes! We have live music available. Kyle Rowland is performing live. He is a regular on stage in the Upstate. Come fill your soul with music as Kyle takes the stage.
What happens if it rains?
We will have the event under a large tent. The event is rain or shine.
What about COVID?
The event is outdoors and will be in a large space with sanitizer and masks (if you choose to wear one). And according to the mayo clinic, “…well-being also includes doing things that make life worth living. With the right information, you can make thoughtful choices about ways to bring a sense of normalcy and joy to your life during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Join us for “Christmas at the Movies” in Greer!
Greer Relief announced today that the 2017 Grand Marshal is Justin Ludley, Greer High School Principal. Principal Ludley, his wife Barrett, and their oldest child James (3 y/o) will lead the parade through Greer on Sunday Dec. 3rd at 2:30 PM. Justin and Barrett’s 6-month old triplets (Tess, Anna, and Will) will be “resting” at home. The entire community comes together for the parade and is very proud of this annual tradition. The festivities are held in conjunction with a weekend of activities organized by the City of Greer & Greer Station Association. Join us in #hereinGreer to kick off the holiday season! The parade will draw residents and visitors from all around the state to enjoy what always proves to be a joyful holiday experience.
Justin Ludley is from Jonesboro, GA. He was hired by Marion Waters as a math teacher for Greer High School in 2006 where he served as a math teacher, assistant football coach, and assistant baseball coach. During his first tenure at Greer High School, Mr. Ludley obtained his Masters’ degree in School Leadership from Furman University in 2011. In 2012, he was hired as an Assistant Principal at Southside High School till 2016. He continued his graduate education during this period and graduated with an E.d.S degree in School District Leadership from Furman University in 2017. In 2016, Justin Ludley was hired by the Greenville County School Board as Principal of Greer High School. In the last two years, students and staff have shown great dedication to service for the Greer community. Led by the Student Government, students and staff raised over $20,000 during Spirit Week of 2016 for Greer Community Ministries and over $26,000 during Spirit Week of 2017 for Greer Relief. Mr. Ludley is honored and thrilled to be able to serve in such wonderful community.

Come shake off the wintertime blues and feel the sand in your toes at the “Wintertime Beach Blast.” The beach-themed party will warm spirits with a mid-winter “getaway” featuring yummy food catered by Wild Aces, beverages served with flair, fantastic entertainment with DJ Craz-e Crane, and a fabulous silent auction provided by our wonderful supportive business community. Think warm thoughts and don your Hawaiian shirt/Beach attire as we go under the Boardwalk for a tropical paradise. Adults only please.
Funds raised through the annual Gala and other events help achieve our mission to prevent hunger and homelessness in the Greater Greer area.

On Tuesday, September 19th 130 neighbors joined together for breakfast and a discussion about Greer Relief. The event started in the BMW Zentrum museum with networking and breakfast. On display were Service Pit Stops showcasing: Volunteering, Safety Net, & RENEW. Guests were invited to check in with each station to learn more about the programs at Greer Relief. The program was presented in the BMW Zentrum Auditorium.
The program opened with a welcome from Walter N. Bennett, III, Greer Relief Board President:
The invocation was given by Dr. Gene Fant, Jr., President of North Greenville University.
Greer Relief by the numbers was presented by Caroline Robertson, Executive Director:
A Neighbor Testimonial Video was presented “Misty, A Story of Strength” Misty joined us for a quick thank you.

A Special Thank you to a few of our top donors from this past year. These donors provided funds that were undesignated an so provided us the ability to use the funds when & where needed.
How YOU can help was presented by Mark Owens, President & CEO of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce closed out the event, saying “Something I think that is special about our community in Greer is that we care about each other. Neighbors do matter…Lets all be brave in our giving…THIS is helping families break the cycle.”
